  • Assesses telephone requests for police services and monitors alarm systems to determine urgency of requests and need to dispatch patrol car.
  • Talks with telephone caller to obtain information and respond to requests for police services.
  • Evaluates information received to determine if patrol car should be dispatched immediately, dispatched on delayed basis, or if situation can be resolved without patrol car being dispatched.
  • Observes light and sound signals on wall panel to monitor alarm systems of Fire Department, private protective agencies, citizen band radio, city hall, or other buildings.
  • Relays information to Dispatcher, Radio when patrol car is to be dispatched.
